Youth Circus Festival 2024

Held at Victory Convention Centre on 1 & 2nd November, this year’s Youth Circus Festival offered in-depth beginning to advanced circus workshops over two days to tamariki and rangatahi from across Auckland and Northland.

On Saturday night, an excited audience was treated to the fabulous youth showcase,
Stars of the Future, which featured ten circus acts from Auckland and Northland, chosen by a jury
from a wide pool of applicants.

On Sunday from 10am to 2pm, Youth Circus Festival was extended for a third day to Silo Park in
Wynyard Quarter, for Sunday Circus Playday!

Stars of the Future was an exciting display of ten hand-picked acts from the Auckland and Northland area, representing the best youth circus performers in the region.

Stars of the Future was an exciting display of ten hand-picked acts from the Auckland and Northland area, representing the best youth circus performers in the region. The talent in the room was incredible - beautiful, finessed, imaginative, entertaining and in a few instances, thrilling!

Professional development opportunity

After the Stars of the Future youth showcase, the performers were offered an opportunity to meet with talent agents, talent buyers, event organisers, members of the Auckland Council events team.

Sunday Circus Playday

On Sunday, 3 November Circability shifted to the open space of Silo Park, extending the Youth Circus Festival weekend by one more day, and capping off the Play Week Aotearoa 2024 with four hours of play through circus!
